2015 GNCC Racing Round 2

Tuesday, March 17, 2015 9:25:23 AM America/Denver

The 2015 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, headed to Washington, Georgia for round 2 at the annual "General" GNCC. The Maxxis/ B. Neal Motorsports machine was fired up and ready to tackle the mud after clouds opened up and let the rain pour. Rider Brycen Neal came around the first corner mid pack and sliced and diced to gain the 3rd place position by the time the pack hit the woods. The Maxxis B. Neal Motorsports pit crew made the decision to gamble and pit for fuel and goggles on lap 1. Neal lost several positions but by the time the pack had crossed the finish line he had worked his way back up to 5th position. Neal the very next lap made his way into 2nd place when the rest of the pack pitted for fuel. It seemed the pit strategy was going to pay off, but the average lap was between 32-34min each lap. Therefore Team Manager/ Mechanic Broc Booth calculated that a second pit stop must be made. "I got two pit boards heading into lap 3" Neal says. "One said McGill +47 seconds, the next one saying pit this lap." Read More

2015 GNCC Racing Round 1

Tuesday, March 17, 2015 9:24:04 AM America/Denver

03/7/15 The 2015 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, kicked off its 41st annual season on Saturday with the Moose Racing Wild Boar GNCC in Palatka, Florida. The Maxxis/ B. Neal Motorsports machine was tuned up and ready to take on the 11 mile course that was filled with deep sand ruts, whoops, and lots of palmetto roots. Rider Brycen Neal came around the first corner in second behind Adam McGill and finished lap one in fourth. "I got a good jump and just tried to settle in and ride a good pace on lap one,I had some nerves with it being the first round and a whole new program for this year so I was riding a little tight at the first of the race". Brycen had dropped to fifth at the halfway point but after the pit stop put his head down and was able to get into fourth at the checkers. "I made a mistake when Chris Borich and Walker Fowler caught up to me that cost me some time and caused me to lose touch with them I believe if I could have hooked on to there pace I would have been closer to the leaders at the finish but I'm going to learn from these and hopefully be closer to the top three very soon" Brycen explained .
